Hi!
For all my readers in the U.S., are you ready for the long Memorial Day Weekend? We will probably spend our weekend at the lake if it is nice and go to a parade on Monday. You know I love a parade!
To recap the week on the blog, I shared a glimpse into how I organize my kitchen. I am pretty organized about some things, but there are other areas, like my bathroom counter, that always need help.
This week we celebrated my children’s birthdays. They did not have a party this year, but we had a special outing on Sunday that was filled with go karts, amusement park rides, arcade games, a virtual reality experience and more fun!
Here’s the Happy List!
FREE PRINTABLE
I love the sentiment of this free printable from Maison de Pax. You can download this pretty print here.

WILDFLOWER HOTLINE
Do yourself a favor and call the Wildflower Hotline in California. It is updated on Fridays through May, so this might be your last chance for this year.
The number is 818-768-1802, ext. 7
You can also listen to the report online here.
I listened to all 4 minutes of the prerecorded message from last week and it was PURE JOY.
I’ve never heard anyone describe wildflowers with so much fervor and eloquence. It was so refreshing to listen to this wildflower report and I really wish I could see California’s wildflowers in person!
BEST HOUSE ON THE BLOCK
Is anyone watching Best House on the Block? I’m not, but I have been a fan of Lauren Liess for quite awhile.
I love that she recently designed a kitchen with wood cabinets for episode 2 of her show. I still love a white kitchen, but seeing wood cabinets make a comeback is refreshing.

COFFEE BEANS
This is a PSA for you coffee drinkers.
If you like Costco’s Columbian Medium Roast Coffee
We don’t have a Costco membership, but you can buy Costco coffee on Amazon. Go figure.
We just switched to the AmazonFresh brand because it was cheaper and both Handy Husband and I are loving it. We have not tried the ground coffee from either place. Only the whole beans.
COASTAL BEDROOM
If you love coastal, beach-style decorating then definitely follow along with Sand and Sisal’s blog.
I love this bedroom makeover she just shared. That blue-patterned wall is fantastic!
PATRIOTIC MANICURE
I might be able to paint the dots on my fingernails. The stars – definitely not.

CRISPY BBQ SMASHED POTATOES
I don’t cook potatoes regularly, but when I do I want them to be full of flavor and worth every calorie!
This recipe from Blissful Basil looks delicious and the addition of cilantro on top is genius.
I LISTENED, I READ
I listened to new music from The Lumineers! I’d love to see them perform live sometime.
I read this article about how Dutch scientists have come up with a model to predict when dribbling from a teapot (or other similar things) will occur and why. This is a good example of how solving something that we find to be a minor problem actually can help with a much bigger issue like 3-D printing.
Happy Friday! Thanks for reading this week’s Happy List.
I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.
P.S. As you know, I’d love to connect with you on Instagram or Pinterest. Even Facebook. Thank you for all of your likes – it is tough to crack the algorithm, so I appreciate your help!
