Welcome to the Happy List. Top o’ the morning to you! I’m glad you’re here.
This week on the blog I shared how our living room has evolved in the last five years and how many throw pillows I have accumulated in that time. At this rate, we’ll be overrun with throw pillows in short order.
I also shared on the blog the one thing we did not anticipate, or maybe buried in the back of our brains when it comes to repointing the stone walls in our basement. Now we are living with our choices. Ha!
As always, thank you for being here. If you want to connect with us, and I hope you do, you can always comment on this blog post or send an email here. You can also reach out on Instagram or Facebook.
Enjoy this week’s Happy List!
SO SATISFYING
Check out this gorgeous photo from Morrison Interiors. Look at how the lines of the ceiling planks line up with the wall planks. Have you ever seen anything more satisfying? This kind of precision is above our pay grade!
Also, that grain sack couch is amazing. Go see more photos of this space here.

COLORFUL OTTOMAN
Birch Lane’s collaboration with Rifle Paper Co. has resulted in the happiest, most colorful ottomans. I was hard-pressed to pick a favorite.
My only complaint is the price made me gulp, but that could just be me. My frugal streak does run deep.

HANG TEN
Did you know that Agatha Christie loved to surf? She and her husband learned how to surf in South Africa in 1922. They were likely some of the first British people to learn how to surf upright.
I’m having difficulty picturing her surfing in her wool swimsuit and leather booties.
Read more about it, including the color of that swimsuit, here.

FREE EASTER BANNER PRINTABLE
Are you good with scissors? Have you stashed away some cute ribbon? If so, this free Easter banner printable from Tatertots and Jello would be a cute way to decorate for an Easter gathering.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
David Attenborough’s spoken version of What a Wonderful World is sure to be one of the most delightful and peaceful ways you can spend 2 minutes on the internet today.
I could listen to that man’s voice all day long. His spoken voice, those lyrics, and scenes from the animal kingdom? Stick a fork in me. I’m done.
If the video doesn’t load, watch it directly here on YouTube.
FAUX MARBLE PAINTING TECHNIQUE
Diane from In My Own Style has done it again. I never would have guessed this wasn’t a real marble top on her sideboard.
She has a very detailed tutorial on how she made paint look like marble. Check it out here.

PUFF PASTRY DESSERT
This puff pastry dessert sandwich idea from Today’s Creative Life is fun because it’s adaptable based on the cookie cutters you own. Make it Easter-themed, baby shower-themed, wedding shower-themed, etc.
My kids would love this particular version because it includes Nutella.

IRISH SAYINGS
In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, here are some delightful Irish sayings. I don’t know who to credit them to or if they are even Irish, but I found them here. I hope they make you smile.
“As you slide down the bannister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way.”
“Never iron a four-leaf clover because you don’t want to press your luck.”
“May you be in heaven a full half hour before the devil knows you’re dead.”
“May the winds of fortune sail you, may you sail a gentle sea, may it always be the other guy who says, “This drink’s on me.”
Thank you for being here today.
Be good to yourself and others this weekend.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Slán go fóill. (That’s Irish for farewell for now.)
I’ll see you back here on Monday.
