Happy List: #160
Welcome back to another edition of the Happy List. How’s everyone doing?
We had a virtual double date via FaceTime with another couple on Monday. A Monday night date! Who are we?!
We had this date after the kids went to bed, so there weren’t any kid interruptions. We each brought wine and snacks. They had better snacks though. I did not stock up on chocolate because I didn’t think I should test my willpower during a stay-at-home order. I’m regretting my choice now.
This virtual date definitely buoyed our spirits and I encourage you to give it a try.
This week I shared everything you might possibly want to know about wood floors that were installed during the colonial era. Are you jealous of those gaps in my floors? Ha!
I also dug deep into the blog archives to share some funny stories with you on Wednesday.

FORREST GUMP’S HOUSE
Did you know that the Forrest Gump house was not a real house? Well, it was real, but it was built expressly for the movie in an empty field. Since it was built hastily and not to code, it was torn down after filming concluded.

In case you were wondering, still no interest in filming a movie at our house.

COMMON CAUSE
In addition to the beautiful sentiment of this post, if you love travel, you’ll enjoy this account from Ireland. The pictures they typically post are gorgeous.
TP SITUATION
The vanity in this bathroom by Levity Interiors is gorgeous, but what really caught my eye was the sliver of the toilet paper situation going on in this room.
Do to an awkward wall placement in our main bathroom, I’m trying to figure out a different approach to the traditional wall-mounted toilet paper holder.

SOME GOOD NEWS
I’ll take a good news tv network lead by John Krasinski any day! This show made me laugh and get a little misty eyed!
DON’T CHOOSE BETWEEN PASTA OR RICE
Choose pasta AND rice. Like many of you, I am stocked up on pasta and rice.
I went a little wild this week and used both pasta AND rice in this Cheesy Cuban Chicken Rice Bake from Half Baked Harvest. I know I share a ton of her recipes, but I just haven’t had a bad one yet.
This one tasted like comfort food to me and I had all the ingredients on hand. It needs the lime though, so don’t skip this step.

SLIPPERS ARE LIFE
I’m still living in the slippers
I got for Christmas on Amazon and thank goodness! They make my quarantine a little bit comfier. The slippers were inexpensive, come in a bunch of colors, and are still holding up great!
RECREATED ART
The Getty Museum asked people to recreate famous art using materials they have at home and the results are hilarious!
LIVE FOREVER
I’ve been into the music of Drew and Ellie Holcomb lately. The lyrics of their song Live Forever spoke to me this week.
