Hey, hey! Welcome to the Happy List! I hope you had a great week and are ready to read something fun and light-hearted.

Let’s start by reminding you what was on the blog this week. On Monday, I shared 3 ideas on how to label your DIY furniture. If we don’t start labeling and documenting things, history will be lost.

On Wednesday, I shared the first bracelet I’ve ever made – a wood heart bracelet. It’s important to me to make things I actually will use or wear and this craft fits that bill!

HYDRO-DIPPED VASES

Imagine me bouncing up and down in my seat right now because I want to try this crafty idea! Maybe not on a vase, but on something.

Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia walks you through the super easy process of how to hydro-dip a vase with spray paint. At first, I didn’t understand what hydro dipping was but if you like that marbled look on objects, this is a way of achieving that. Get the directions here.

PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHUNK COOKIES

It’s possible I’ve shared this Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookie recipe from Creme de la Crumb before. If so, you’ll know I really like it if I’ve shared it twice!

I made the recipe again last weekend but used white chocolate chips instead of regular chocolate. Still delicious. I staunchly believe cookies should be soft and chewy, so I’m careful not to overbake them.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that NASA invented scratch-resistant lenses while working on a completely different technology? NASA scientist Theodore J. Wydeven, Jr. was working on a water purification system and as a part of that research developed a thin, plastic coating. The short story is they realized that technology had other uses and the invention was licensed to Foster Grant. We take for granted that our eyeglasses have a scratch-resistant coating on them and we have NASA to thank!

BALLOONS FOR THE WIN

The clever folks at Hostess With The Mostess used a balloon to make these festive glasses. How fun for a party!

P.S. I tried this trick myself this week to see if it would work. Mine didn’t look as good as theirs did but the idea has potential!

WARM FEET

I bought myself a pack of socks for Christmas. I was genuinely thrilled to open this “gift” on Christmas morning because I knew they were exactly what I wanted. I haven’t stopped wearing them since.

My feet stay warm in these socks. I love the color variety. And here’s the important part…they aren’t too tight. I don’t need my feet or ankles strangled by my socks. Life is hard enough as is.

CONVERTED

Would you live in an old post office? This Kentucky post office conversion is pretty neat!

It’s certainly not for everyone but it is so inspiring when someone repurposes an old building.
