3 Projects to Try While I Take a Blog Break

Since this week is Cinco de Mayo, National Candied Orange Peel Day, International No Diet Day, National Hoagie Day, No Socks Day, and Mother’s Day, I thought it would be a good time to take a week-long blog break. As you can tell, I’m going to be QUITE busy.

Normally, I’d say I was taking time off blogging to spend more time with my family.

Hahahahahahahaha.

That’s super funny now that we’ve been living under a Covid-19 quarantine order for close to two months. All we’ve had is family time and I have no complaints about that!

This week my goal is to recharge from a creative perspective. I’m also going to eat a hoagie, a candied orange peel, a taco, and I definitely won’t worry about my diet while I’m not wearing socks.

I’ll be back on Monday, but in my absence, here are 3 projects to try while I take a blog break.

1: Try painting a burlap bag. Or any fabric. What have you got to lose? What’s the worst that can happen? You don’t like what you created? Big whoop. Just keep painting!

2: Embellish any article of clothing in your house with some embroidery thread. Again, what’s the worst that can happen? Also, who is going to see it while you are stuck at home during a pandemic quarantine? Exactly. Get out the thread already.

3: Make something using leather. If you’ve been reading this blog for more than five minutes you know I love a good leather craft. I need you to come to the dark side with me, so I’m encouraging you to give it a whirl! Make cabinet pulls, wrap a basket handle with leather, design jewelry. Whatever it is – just try! Again, what’s the worst that can happen?

I randomly picked 3 projects for you to try while I take a blog break, but really, I just want you to have fun being creative.

I don’t think anything I’ve ever created has been earth shattering, but it has given me a creative outlet, a sense of purpose, and a sense of satisfaction. Those things are worth their weight in gold!

Happy creating and I’ll see you next week.

P.S. If you’re REALLY missing me, I’m sure I’ll be posting on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest this week.
