Happy List: #247
Hello, hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List!
The world feels HEAVY right now, so I’m going to keep things light.
This week on the blog I shared our 2022 House Project Goals. Nothing like a little goal-setting to keep things light on the blog. Ha! I also shared how I’ve been utterly charmed by a woven basket plant stand. I don’t try to explain these things…I just go with the flow at this point in my life.
When I’m not hanging out on the blog I usually find time to share a project or idea on Instagram and Facebook stories. I’d love it if you joined me there and please tell your friends too!
Also, I love to see what you are making and creating. Please tag me on social media or send me a message via email so I can celebrate your project wins with you and maybe include your idea in an upcoming blog post!
Here’s the Happy List!
STAIR SLIDE
Did you know a company called Stair Slide makes – wait for it – a slide for your stairs? I totally would have bought this when my kids were little.
Heck, I kind of want one now.

MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
I’ve been thinking about St. Patrick’s Day and these Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies from Butter With a Side of Bread look yummy!
What caught my eye about the recipe is that they are made with vanilla pudding mix. I’ve never made a cookie recipe quite like that!

Since the mint part of this recipe comes from mint extract, I think you could adapt almost any chocolate chip cookie recipe to be minty.
DILLON HELBIG
If you need a pick-me-up this week, then I IMPLORE you to spend 20 minutes listening to the This Is Love podcast featuring an interview with Dillon Helbig.
Dillon is the 8-year-old boy who slipped his handwritten book onto the shelves at his Idaho public library.

To hear the story in his own words, especially when he describes his favorite part of the book (It involves being eaten by a turkey and how he escapes out the other end.), is PURE JOY.
This story will make you smile and restore your faith in humanity.
P.S. This Is Love is one of my favorite podcasts. This is partly because the host, Phoebe Judge, has such a soothing voice. It’s also because I like hearing stories about love.
BREAKFAST NOOK
The rounded wall framing this breakfast nook is so pretty.
The rest of this house by Ursino Interiors is pretty amazing too. I love all the paneling in the bathrooms.

ANOTHER BREAKFAST NOOK
I’ve got breakfast on the mind, I guess!
In this home by Becca Interiors, I love the casual gallery wall, the way the back cushion is hung, and the surfboard. I’d love to have an excuse to decorate with a surfboard!

FLORAL MURALS
The floral murals by Ouizi are so happy! The pictures make me smile and I hope I get to experience one in person someday.
Check out more of Ouizi’s murals here or on Instagram.

HIGHWAY NUMBERING SYSTEM
I learned something this week! Turns out there is a rhyme and reason to why U.S. highways are numbered the way they are.

WORDS OF WISDOM
“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.” – Michelle Obama
“I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.”
― The Essential Groucho: Writings For By And About Groucho Marx
Thank you for reading today’s Happy List.
Be good to yourself and others this weekend.
I’ll see you back here on Monday.
