    Happy List: #217

Hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List! What am I doing today? I’m so glad you asked. I’m cleaning out all of this year’s remote school materials. Today is the last day of school and WE SURVIVED. I daresay the kids might have thrived at the end too, which is an added blessing. This week on the blog I shared a house anniversary post. We’ve lived in this Colonial Farmhouse for two years now! I also shared a shed makeover using black stain. It is so much more satisfying to stain something than to paint it, perhaps because I find stain to be more forgiving. If you’ve done a project…

    Happy List: #216

Hello! Welcome to the Happy List! This week on the blog I shared how we are updating our home with antique hardware. The words updating and antique don’t always go together in the same sentence, but it works in our situation. I also finally shared how we built the bathroom vanity for our upstairs bathroom. We converted a console sink to a regular vanity base and it will be my favorite thing until the next favorite thing! If you have been DIYing or doing something fun with your home, please share it with me on social media. I’d love to see what you are up to! The best part about…

    Happy List: #215

Welcome to the first Happy List of June! I’m trying to decide if the first half of 2021 has gone by quickly or slowly. Since Christmas and New Year’s seem like a lifetime ago, I’m going to have to go with slowly. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. How about your year? Slow or fast? This week on the blog I shared three mirror makeovers that I hope will prompt a creative idea you can implement in your own space. That’s what I’m here for! Ideas and maybe a laugh once in awhile. If you try one of my ideas out, please tag me on social media or let…

    Happy List: #214

Why, hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List! This weekend marks the unofficial start to summer in the U.S. Who is ready? *raises both hands* But could we keep the temperature under 85F this summer? Is that too much to ask? Probably. This week on the blog I shared the outdoor furniture setup on our deck because I’m ready for summer! I also shared the AmericanĀ flag I painted on a wood door that hangs on the side of our barn. Now, here is the Happy List! FUCHSIA Never would I think to paint an exposed ceiling fuchsia. Isn’t it amazing? This wasn’t even the most impressive picture of this home,…

Welcome to today’s Happy List! Our household is currently in a sugar coma after celebrating two back-to-back birthdays this week. It’s not the worst state to be in, especially since it means another year around the sun with my kids! This week on the blog I shared an up-cycled project – a lamp shade I turned into a planter. It seemed like the right thing to do! I hope these type of projects inspire you to look at everyday items in a new light. If you want more house ideas, please follow us on Instagram or Facebook. Plenty of things happen on social media stories that never make it on…

    Happy List: #212

Hello and Happy Friday! Welcome to this week’s edition of the Happy List. It might be the most exciting day, so far, of the year for my kid’s. Our pool is being opened for the season! We don’t have a pool heater, so it will be way too cold for me to swim for quite awhile unless we get a heatwave. Last year my first swim in the pool was at night after a storm had come through the area. One of the outdoor umbrellas had blown out of its stand and into the pool. If the umbrella had stayed closed it wouldn’t have been a problem to extract it…

Hello, hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List! I’m delighted you are here. This week on the blog I shared what we found when we finally cleaned out our barn loft. The spoiler is I did not find that treasure I’m constantly on the hunt for. I also wrote an early Mother’s Day post about appreciation. Personally, I’m not overly enamored with Mother’s Day, but that’s more about me missing my mom than anything. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. If you like the blog posts I share here each week (or at least you like the sporadic blog post – I won’t get greedy),…

    Happy List: #210

Hello, hello! Welcome to the Happy List. If you’re here, that means it is almost the weekend! Woohoo! This week I shared a tutorial on how to make a no sew privacy liner for woven shades. My first recommendation is just to buy woven shades already lined, but if you’re like me and don’t do that, then this tutorial is for you. I also dedicated an entire post to a $30 vacuum. Who writes over 600 words about a vacuum? Ummm…this lady, apparently. Perhaps I need to find a hobby. Ha! As always, I hope you come see what we are up to on Instagram this weekend! I’m sure it…

    Happy List: #209

Hello! I’m glad to welcome you here for this week’s Happy List. This week on the blog I shared the five categories of kitchen art and the one thing I never mentioned to my kids about refrigerators. I also published a snarky, but helpful guide to wallpaper removal. One of you asked for this blog post minus the snarky part and I’d like to think I delivered on that request. I think the moral of this story is be careful what you ask of me! Here’s your weekly reminder: if you want to see us take forever to update a bathroom or see Handy Husband working his DIY magic, then…

    Happy List: #208

Hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m glad you are here. This week on the blog I shared an update on how our built-in computer desksĀ are working out for our family. I will say this, we built them just in the nick of time! I also shared the sad and somewhat embarrassing pictures of our current device charging station. It’s a hot mess, but I have an idea on how to improve it. Some of the ideas that don’t make it on the blog I share on social media stories. I hope we are connected either on Facebook or Instagram and I would love, LOVE, LOVE IT if you’d…
